Million Units Sold?
12-02-06

Actual next generation console sales numbers have not been officially released. We can however get a general idea from a helpful site known as NexGenWars. When we stopped by the site tonight we noticed that the Wii is pounding the PS3 into the ground. It would seem that the attractive price point and innovative controller will equate to a win for Nintendo this season. We'd like to say a big congrats to passing the million unit mark before December 1st!

Personally, I hope it means we'll have more submissions!

Look What Zelda's New Attack Does...
11-30-06

Is Zelda pissing you off? Can't figure out how to work the fishing pole? Haven't even made it that far yet? Well, whatever you do - DO NOT- throw the controller out of anger. You never know when you put your laptop at your feet and accidentally chuck the controller into the screen. That's exactly what this user did. The best part is that the strap still managed to break, what are the odds of that? Also; how awesome is it that the website is Best Buy? I bet he was ready to buy an HDTV before he realized the dangers that lurk ahead!

Girl Gamers Are So Hot...
11-30-06

...Until they throw a Wii Remote right into your friend's parent's TV while they are out of town.  See kids, Alcohol is bad mmkay?  Here's what the submitter had to say about this:

We were playing Wii and drinking at a friend's house whose parents
were out of town. My friend wanted to play. She is a shitty drunk.
Only after one drink. Swung the controller in home run derby... lost
grip. Strap broke. TV cracked. Remote still works.... I'm impressed.

It may "still work" but If I was your friends parents, I'd be pissed off.  As for you my friend, I hope her destroying the TV was enough to "close the deal".

Official Wii Safety Guide
11-30-06

So I was browsing the Nintendo Official Safety Guide and noticed it may be missing a few key details that users could find helpful. I was going to write some totally awesome post bashing the safety warnings. The post would even draw attention to how their remote illustration images aren't even the same image height... but then... I realized something. Corporations shouldn't have to inform you that swinging an object in the general direction of a TV has risks. Sure they have commercials where people swing the remote like mad - they are called ACTORS - and they're paid to do silly things that make us go buy innovation. Don't get me wrong, I think it sucks your TV is busted, I just think it's funny is all, and apparently so does everyone else.

If you want to read the Wii Saftey guide and you haven't figured out you could click on the image above OR the link at thes tart of the article. Then here is a short bus version just for you.

Girl Power!
11-30-06

Atte ALGEYA, cartoonist to PiLLI Adventure, focused on the greatest threat to men in the living room.... The female backswing - Having personally sustained a blow and lived to tell about it. You should be cautious, there is a reason no one watches the Pro Women Leagues, they're not exactly aware of their surroundings at all times.

Disc Drive Malfunctions?
11-29-06

I have my doubts that this is a wide spread problem, for all I know the person who made the video dropped his Wii. Why the doubt? Because he couldn't even insert the disc on the first try in the video. It's a video man, you could have edited it however you like; yet you demonstrated how you are a likely candidate to be a remote chucker.

Emergency Room Event...
11-29-06

This one belongs on Grey's Anatomy:

Here's my story, very similar to another one you already have. Had to goto the ER with my girlfriend the day before Thanksgiving. Nothing too serious but she has migraine headaches. Anyways, while there I received a call from my friend who was at my house playing the Wii with my roomie. He claimed he broke my TV & I promptly hung up on him thinking this was no time for jokes. About 3 calls later and testimony from my roomie, I realized the nightmare was real. Playing bowling, he had left off his wriststrap, hit the side of his baggy pants during his swing and let go of the remote, destroying my Samsung 46" LCD TV that was only a few weeks old. I rushed home leaving the woman at ER(she was doped up and half asleep anyways) thinking there could be a chance they were still joking. When I walked in, the TV looked fine... until you turned it on. I laughed at the absurdity when I saw red/blue/green lines running vertically throughout the screen. After going through a series of all kinds of emotions, I finally settled down. 2 days later my friend returned with a Sony 46" Bravia LCD. Not quite the Samsung, but I am getting used to it and I think I might like it better.

40 Inch Paperweight
11-29-06

This poor guy was wearing the wrist strap, and although it didn't technically snap it came off his wrist! Here is the story in his own words:

I have a 27 inch normal tv in my room. So on wensday after launch I asked my mom if i could use it on the 40 inch projection HDTV. She was like ok what ever. So i was playing tennis and the wiimote flew out of my hand with the wrist strap (yes i was wearing it and it flew off with the wiimote) and flew into the screen. Cracking the 2 protection covers but not touching the real screen (thank god).
Wow, I think that brings new meaning to "Look Mom! No hands!"

4 Inch Screen Ruined... Hey, Size Doesn't Matter!
11-28-06

Rafael Montano updated his blog the other day and didn't tell us. But it's ok Rafael, we'll still send you traffic and make fun of your misfortune. Poor Rafael's Ipaq HX4700 probably didn't see that Wii Remote coming, but I guarantee his wallet soon will. Obviously we like to see big things get destroyed but we realize it's all about the motion of the... well... wii and not the size of the ship.

Remember folks, don't have ANYTHING anywhere near you when you play with your wii. Even if your only blessed with a 4" friend.

Next Gen meets Laptop
11-27-06

Ugamer_X didn't take the bootup warning seriously. He laughed at it actually, guess who's not laughing any more? That's right. He has placed his laptop between his TV and where he was standing (I guess that's what you do when you own a laptop) Wii Sports: Bowling chalks up another victory because this remote left his hand at mach 2 and completely destroyed his laptop screen.

I vote he gets "Attach wrist strap and keep your distance from other objects in the room" tatooed on his arm, I bet he'll think twice next time.

UPDATE

Turns out that this was a faked shot of the screen. A screen saver that has been around the Internet was used to try and show that he broke his laptop.

Silly Kids.
