Kid Hit in the Face, Looks Angry About It
01-29-07

Heh, this kid looks half pissed off about the whole situation. His father Eric tells us how it happened.

"My 7 yr old son had just accepted a challegene from his sister to play his new game he just got for his birthday, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. They settled to try the Hammer Throw mini game, he was confident he could outthrow his sister, so he started to spin and spin, then he fell down catching the leg of my computer desk with his forehead. After a lot of blood, a lot of screaming/crying and a trip to Urgent Care, he ended up having 4 stiches in his head. -eric"
I like that this boy's father gave the slash treatment to the screaming and crying word combination. That, if I remember correctly, is how you cry when you are young and in pain. You just open your mouth and sound comes out at a loud volume. There is no tearful whimpering that builds into a sob, there is just the burst from zero to screaming/crying in .5 seconds flat.

Since we have a somewhat younger member of society making the coordination error this time, we'll give him a pass and not unleash the hounds of sarcasm on his frail body of emotions this time. I also like the batman shirt.

The Fishing Flip
01-10-07

I think this is our first chair, and I'm just happy that it happened on a personal favorite like Zelda. Jeffrey explains how cramped quarters and a bit too much excitement led him to breaking his chair...

"I moved my wii into my bedroom while I was doing some renovations on my basement. And I was in the middle of playing Zelda twilight princess. And I was getting quite frusterated with trying to find some bugs, so I decided to go fishing. I was in the lake on a boat, and a big one hit the line. So when I went to real It in, it started pulling on my line. So I pulled back. So far back, the wheel on my chair gave out and snap. I did a back flip and as I landed, that dam fish got away. So just to let a word of warning go. Wiisports isn

A Lesson for All of Us
01-07-07

Here's what happens if you don't take the Christmas lights down ASAP. Karma kids, that's what happens. It was that seemingly simple oversight that started the problems this man was witness to as he tells us...

"A few days after I got a Wii for Xmas, a bunch of friends came to town for New Year's. We turned on the Wii and it was an instant hit. The competition in Tennis was getting pretty fierce when one of the guys got a little too close to the christmas tree and let fly with a strong forehand. There was a delightful POP followed by a shower of glass shards. He luckily escaped injury. Karma was working quickly that evening - not long afterwards I accidentally bonked his girlfriend in the head during a serve, and the next day she whacked him in the elbow during a forehand."
Yes there was a chain of pain that no single person would feel, but instead a never ending stream of party goers would all feel this karmic wrath. Either that or we just have seen what happens when a bunch of drunken party goers start flailing their arms.

Nonbeliever Converts to Wii Remote Thrower
01-03-07

Here's a nice furniture damage story. This time it's a china cabinet. Quincy shares his pain with us...

"i was playing wii sport baseball... The wii remote slipped from my hands, snapped the wrist cord, and flew into my mother in law china cabinet. I really couldn't believe people were breaking the straps, I thought they must be drunk and throwing the Wii-motes without using the straps correctly, but then it happened. few days ago I was telling the store manager and EB game how dumb you must be to throw your wii remote into the tv. i enter the dumb static... -Quincy"
Admitting that he has a problem is the first step. As a second step, I think Quincy should take a look at that last sentence. "I enter the dumb static." I don't know what he means there, is he trying to say "dumb statistic" because he's grouped in with a new demographic? Or is he saying that he's statically dumb as opposed to dynamically dumb? Who can say? All I know is his round of crazy antics just cost him a china cabinet.

7th Inning Stretch
12-02-06

Hey! Batter, batter, batter... Swing! This is our first submission where the TV / Entertainment Center was unharmed. The twist? The remote took the brunt of this guys "pitch fever". In his own words...

My friend, my girlfriend, and I were playing Wii Sports baseball. My friend was pitching, and I wasn't playing at the time. He pitched it hard, because he thought for some reason that if he pitched as hard as he could, maybe he could break the max pitching speed of 94...? I'm pretty sure you can't. What you CAN break is the WiiRemote's wriststrap, and the Controller port, where the nunchuck is inserted, its bent to hell. :\ And the battery cover didnt go on too well, fixed that with some pliers though. And the right direction is a little rougher now.

Yes, he threw it probably well over 100 mph... if Wii Sports measured that high. haha. I'm lucky that that pane is made of plexiglass instead of glass, or there would have been a mess.
Not bad, we've had way more expensive submissions, glad to see something defend against the remote!
